Welcome to the Ridgewood High School Athletic Department
Ridgewood is proud to offer 17 different athletic programs for the boys and girls in our district. Within those 17 athletic programs you will find an energetic, enthusiastic, and articulate coaching staff working to build sport-specific growth, teamwork, a competitive spirit, and a lifelong love for sports and fitness. The athletic facilities at Ridgewood are nothing short of extraordinary and are a place where our student-athletes can practice and compete in a safe environment.
The Ridgewood High School Athletic Department operates under the rules, regulations and by-laws of the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS), the Illinois High School Association (IHSA), the Metro Suburban Conference (MSC), and Ridgewood High School District #234.
Athletics play an important role in the well-rounded educational experience at Ridgewood. Research has shown that students who participate in athletics and extracurricular activities are more likely to achieve high academic success. Every year we celebrate the academic success of our student-athletes through the Metro Suburban Conference All Conference Academic Team. This past school year we recognized 147 Ridgewood athletes for their academic achievements. Their leadership and commitment to both athletic and academic excellence truly represent the goals of the Ridgewood High School Athletic Department.
